A long drive off a short pier.

We called into the local Golden Arches at Yass to replenish our supply of caffeine before we embarked on a long day of driving. Jen encountered what appeared to be half the township - lining up for their morning essentials. She described one lady, resplendent in piercings and neck tattoos, as well as an Amazonian Council Worker, devouring her morning meal at the counter (glaring at any who came too close) while waiting for her coffee to arrive.

The trip to Melbourne was one long, drizzly trip - punctuated by a brief stop at Albury, where we encountered what appeared to be the slowest pedestrians in Australia. Lily decided to somewhat vocally point out a long-haired, trenchcoat-wearing gentleman, wearing an agitated/confused expression as well as an abundance of facial tattoos.

We eventually made it to the sea, where The Spirit of Tasmania was being loaded with various vehicles. The boarding process took approximately an hour, which gave us plenty of time to review the prohibited weapons list.

Thank goodness I didn't bring along my
flame-thrower or magnetic weapon..

Looking forward to a peaceful slumber as we cross the delightful seas of mountainous Bass Strait. Devonport, here we come.

Note to self: complete Blog before losing contact with the coast.
